Purchased this to replace a similar unit that was starting to experience issues. Was a bit leery of the cell phone connectivity feeling like it might add complexity and reduce performance of ??landline??. NOT SO. Phone is simple to install and works like a charm – both landline and cell. Phones are lightweight but not flimsy. Ringtones are clear and loud with ability to change and modulate. Cell phone clarity is perfect as well. Interestingly I took a chance and purchased the ??used – acceptable condition?? unit offered by amazon Warehouse deals. The price discount was compelling and I have had only GREAT experiences with past purchases. NOT SURE what made this ??acceptable?? as it was like BRAND NEW and still in original packaging. Once again a FABULOUS bargain with full functionality and not a single flaw I can. Detect. Check out the used when purchasing. Might save you $$$ on a sweet deal!
Top Critical Review
Not of the same quality as older Panasonic Phones. Smaller, lighter and cheaper construction. No rubber anti-slip feature built into back of handset as on an older model. No headphone jack. Does not feel like a “quality unit” compared to older models. Thinner plastic. No flashing indicator light on handsets indicating that a message is waiting. Smaller screen then on an older unit that I used for years. Buttons not as comfortable feeling on edges of fingers as compared to an older model. Sound quality is poor and of lower volume.
Bluetooth sound crackles. Older model easier to navigate menu, more steps required to perform specific functions. Battery life poor.
The older model shines in comparison for ****basic phone features****. This seems to be trend with most new products these days, cheaper construction, lower build quality.
Added 02-15-2018 Bluetooth audio crackles and has so much static noise that the voice sounds completely garbled. Unusable feature.
Customer Questions & Answers
Can it handle two lines?
Answer: Not from what I can see. The base unit has no “line 1”, “line 2”, etc. capabilities. But, it can be paired to (2) cell phones.
Do i understand this – 1. You can turn the volume down on each handset? 2. It announces out loud the caller name as its ringing? Thanks
Answer: You can adjust the volume on each handset independently. It will announce the caller name if the name is in your contact list, otherwise it will speak the number of the caller.
I have older Panasonic set thatt receives calls and can answer on all handsets but only call out on the cell. Can I call out on any of these?
Does each handset have a speakerphone?
Answer: Yes, but my units came with very poor battery performance! Tech support is non existent!!! Ended up having to buy replacement batteries!
