Top Positive Review

Ok love the phone, except for one big issue….maybe two…. “”NO LTE”” and the signal not so good, sometimes it switches to 3g and even Edge….. As for the performance, it plays fast paced games without lagging or do flickering. Oh and make sure you use the free case that comes with it because this phone is slippery as heck because of the all around glass. I bought for playing games and it’s doing it’s great so for. I’ve had it for a few weeks but just realized the LTE issue and honestly, it’s a little of a bummer but I’ll I’m an impulse buyer and soon I’ll buy something new to take m to mind off it… I DON’T USE IT AS A PHONE ANY MORE BECAUSE MY NON GAMING PHONE WORKS BETTER AS IN THAT RESPECT..

Product Review: HAFURY GT20 Unlocked Smartphone, Android 10, 8GB + 256GB, 6.4 inch FHD Punch Hole Display

This phone has some strengths and weaknesses, ultimately there is enough there that makes it a good buy.

The good:
– plays nice with AT&T and T-Mobile for US customers, also Google Fi, and the same will likely be true for other GSM service providers.
– Fairly stock Android 10
– lots of RAM for smooth multitasking capabilities, this one has 8GB which is plenty
– good macro lens
– nice, perfectly responsive touch screen, no issues here that plague a lot of low end phones like jitter, poor tracking, sluggishness
– side thumb fingerprint reader
– NFC for Google Pay capabilities
– while no speed demon, gets the job done without lagginess for most tasks, things like scrolling through pages and gameplay will be in general a smooth experience

The bad:
– Verizon phones will experience frequent signal dropouts and have a slew of SMS/MMS delivery issues for both sending and receiving texts. Let’s just say that while the seller may purport Verizon compatibility, while this is not strictly false, in practice, there are too many issues to make it true either. Verizon customers: recommend avoiding this one, or perhaps you might have better luck than me.
– Sprint customers: Sprint rejects this phone for use with the network. I have not reached out to Sprint to see if there is a way to make an exception. In theory, the LTE bands are supported so there could be compatibility. In effect, however, the phone is incompatible due to they way Sprint operates. Sprint customers: avoid this one. At least until T-Mobile decides to ditch this legacy policy, in favor for a more open network policy.
– rear main camera usually overprocesses details to oblivion, and combined with compression artifacts, results in mediocre quality pics
– wide angle only makes things worse
– fingerprint reader with the case in place is hard to reach reliably. This translates to a lot of fingerprint reading errors. With the case off, the reader is pretty accurate. Given the phone is encased in glass, it’s not practical to use the phone unprotected.
– The spacious battery is not really that good, phone dies after around 5 hrs of screen on time. It’s certainly no endurance champ.

The ugly:
It phone is a Cubot X30 in disguise. It will have all the security holes associated with that particular brand. In particular, the phone utilizes a nefarious software from Adups (a Chinese company that is guilty of creating back doors in phones to push malware without user consent and collecting personal data). The program is called “Wireless Update” and it will have to be removed. Sounds harmless enough, and something that might push OS updates to your phone right? WRONG. The first thing you should do is research how to remove this (there are two packages that need to be uninstalled: “com.adups.fota” and “com.adups.privacypolicy”).

In summary, there are better options out there within a similar price range and does not come with the baggage of this one. In particular, if you value your personal information and don’t appreciate trojans, avoid this one completely. If you are a legacy Sprint or Verizon customer, generally avoid this one. If you are an AT&T, T-Mobile, or Google Fi subscriber, this one could work for you. YMMV.
